To travel to Ethiopia for any reason or length of time, you must apply for a visa. If the reason for the trip to Ethiopia is for tourism, you can apply for the electronic or online tourist visa for a 30 or 90 day stay. Both visas allow only one entry to the country, and always for tourism or business. You cannot work or apply for residence with the Ethiopia eVisa.
Both the 30-day and 90-day electronic tourist visas can be expedited at an additional cost. In the case of an urgent application, you will receive your approval within 24 hours. If you apply without urgency, you will receive your visa within 4-5 working days on average.
The Ethiopian authorities reserve the right to admit you to the country. If you have lied or omitted relevant information that could cause harm or a threat to the country, your entry will be denied, even if you have an approved visa.
