What is the eTA for Canada?

An eTA is an electronic authorization that all citizens of visa-exempt nationalities need to get in order to visit Canada. The only nationals that do not need it are US citizens, as well as citizens of France residing in Saint Pierre and Miquelon arriving directly from that territory.
