The validity period depends on the type of visa you select, the first is the tourist visa, which is valid for 90 days from the date of entry to the country, then we have the transit visa, which is valid for 24 hours, we also have the multi-entry visa from 1-12 days, with a maximum stay of 12 months, the multi-entry visa of 12-24 days, with a maximum validity of 24 months, and finally the East African tourist visa which is valid for 90 days from the date of entry to any of the countries where the visa is valid: Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda.

Most of the countries require its foreign visitors to apply for a visa or travel authorization in advance of their arrival. Uganda is no exception but to ease the process, they introduced the Uganda online visa (eVisa) that you can get online without visiting an embassy. You can choose between single, and multi-entry visas, or East African visa allowing you to visit also Rwanda and Kenya.
Please note that every government reserves the right to deny the entry into the country despite having approved visa. Each traveler will be processed individually upon their arrival by the immigration officer at the airport, port or border. However, this occurs mostly due to the fact the person poses a threat to security or national interests.
