Uganda eVisa Requirements

Online Uganda visa (Uganda eVisa) requires the following documentation to be approved:

- passport (number and photo)
- personal photo
- certificate of yellow fever vaccination
- travel itinerary
- email to receive the documents
- payment card to pay the visa fees

- return ticket (only in case of East African visa)
- letter why transiting in Uganda and your destination (only for transit visa)
- certificate of criminal record (only for multi-entry visa)
- recommendation of first and second sponsor (only for multi-entry visa)
- letter explaining reason for multiple stays (only for multi-entry visa)
- record of entries and exits to/from Uganda for last year (only for multi-entry visa)

Yes, most travelers need a valid visa or e-visa to travel to Uganda. Some nationalities are exempt, but you can consult our eligibility checker to see if you need one.

The cost depends on the type of visa you select, we have the tourist visa, with a total cost of 79 $/USD /£, we also have the transit visa, with a total cost of 68 $/USD /£, the multi-entry visa for 1-12 months, with a total cost of 129 US$/£, the 12-24 month multi-entry visa with a total cost of 179 US$/£ and finally the East African tourist visa with a total cost of 129 US$/£. All prices include fees and processing.

The validity period depends on the type of visa you select, the first is the tourist visa, which is valid for 90 days from the date of entry to the country, then we have the transit visa, which is valid for 24 hours, we also have the multi-entry visa from 1-12 days, with a maximum stay of 12 months, the multi-entry visa of 12-24 days, with a maximum validity of 24 months, and finally the East African tourist visa which is valid for 90 days from the date of entry to any of the countries where the visa is valid: Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda.

Yes, you need to be vaccinated against yellow fever in order to enter Uganda. People who do not present a yellow fever vaccination certificate will be refused entry to the country.

Most of the countries require its foreign visitors to apply for a visa or travel authorization in advance of their arrival. Uganda is no exception but to ease the process, they introduced the Uganda online visa (eVisa) that you can get online without visiting an embassy. You can choose between single, and multi-entry visas, or East African visa allowing you to visit also Rwanda and Kenya.

Please note that every government reserves the right to deny the entry into the country despite having approved visa. Each traveler will be processed individually upon their arrival by the immigration officer at the airport, port or border. However, this occurs mostly due to the fact the person poses a threat to security or national interests.
