REQUIREMENTS FOR UGANDA VISA

To complete your Uganda visa application, the first thing to do is to ensure that you have the right eVisa.

For the single-entry tourist Uganda visa, you will need:

- A copy of your valid passport
- A personal photograph
- A copy of your yellow fever vaccination card
- An email address to receive the approved visa
- A bank card to pay

For the transit visa, in addition to the above, you will need:

- Proof of country of destination
- A letter explaining the reason for the stopover
- A travel itinerary

For the multiple-entry tourist visas, in addition to the above you will need:

- A certificate of good behaviour
- Letters of recommendation from two sponsors
- A letter explaining the reason for the multiple stays
- Record of the arrivals and departures in Uganda during the previous year (if applicable)

For the East African visa, in addition to the single-entry tourist visa documentation, you will need:

- A travel itinerary
- Proof of accommodation
- Proof of return flights

FAQ ABOUT THE UGANDA VISA

Yes, most travelers need a valid Uganda visa or e-visa to travel to Uganda. Some nationalities are exempt, but you can check with our eligibility checker to see if you need one.
The cost depends on the type of visa you select: we have the tourist visa, with a total cost of 79 $/USD /£; we also have the transit visa, with a total cost of 68 $/USD /£; the multi-entry visa for 1-12 months, with a total cost of 129 US$/£; the 12-24 month multi-entry visa with a total cost of 179 US$/£ and finally the East African tourist visa with a total cost of 129 US$/£. All prices include fees and processing.
The validity period depends on the type of visa you select. The tourist visa, which is valid for 90 days from the date of entry to the country; the transit visa, which is valid for 24 hours; the multi-entry visa from 1-12 days, with a maximum stay of 12 months; the multi-entry visa of 12-24 days, with a maximum validity of 24 months, and finally the East African tourist visa which is valid for 90 days from the date of entry to any of the countries where the visa is valid: Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda.
You must be vaccinated against yellow fever, but we also recommend that you contact your country’s International Vaccination Centre to find out if another type of vaccine is advisable.
Once you submit your Uganda Visa application, the waiting time for approval is usually 4 to 6 days.

Every type of Uganda eVisa offered by the government is processed online, without having to go to the embassy to get one. In Visagov, the application form has been simplified to help the user with possible errors that could jeopardise the approval of the application. You will be able to complete it in only a few minutes in your own language.

You must print out the approved document and present it together with your passport on arrival. Please note that each government reserves the right of admission to the country. If you lie on the form or omit relevant information that may pose a threat to the security of the country, you will not be allowed to access Uganda, even if your visa is approved.
