Types of visas for Uganda

  • Special pass: issued to travelers heading to Uganda for medical treatment, for a short contract (maximum 5 months) or to have time to apply for an entry permit. This pass is valid for 3 months.
  • Entry permit: it is for foreign citizens who wish to live and work in Uganda. You must be sponsored by an organization or company to be eligible. It can be valid for 6, 12, 24 or 36 months.
  • East African visa: it allows you to travel to Rwanda, Kenya and Uganda with a single visa. It grants the holder multiple entries, but the initial entry must be through the country where you applied.

What documents do I need to enter Uganda?
