FMM for Mexico: More information

The FMM (Forma Migratoria Multiple or Multiple Immigration Form) is also known as the Mexican tourist card.

If you are a citizen of one of the countries selected to apply for the FMM online, you can save yourself the hassle and queues once you arrive in Mexico.

The Mexican FMM is valid for 180 days from the time it is stamped by government authorities at the Mexican border.

This document allows you to stay for a maximum of 180 days in the country. The FMM only allows one entry into the country, there is no possibility to apply for a multi-entry document, so each time you travel you must apply for a new one.

Depending on your nationality or your specific situation, there is a possibility that the immigration authorities may limit your stay to 30 days.

With the FMM you cannot work, study or reside in the country, as this form is exclusively a tourist visa. It can be used to enter the country for business meetings or to visit family members.

Having an approved visa does not guarantee entry to the country. If you lie or omit information that may be relevant, or create a threat to the country, the officers in charge of the immigration department may deny entry. You should never lie about your information when filling in the application form, and you should check that the information is correct before submitting the visa application.
