Canada ETA for Australian citizen

Is an eTA required to travel to Canada from Australia?

In 2016, Australian citizens started to require an approval to travel to Canada. This approval is called eTA (Electronic Travel Authorization) and is mandatory for everyone who wishes to travel to Canada regardless of their purpose of travel (tourism, business, etc.).
The eTA is required for all countries that do not require a visa to enter the country, and Australia needs the eTA to be able to travel to Canada without any problems.
It is valid for 5 years, and you can stay for a maximum of 6 months per visit. It is important to note that the eTA is not a physical document, as it is directly linked to your passport, which means that, at the airport, once you present your passport, the authorities will know that you have an approved eTA.
However, we will provide you with an emailed document with your eTA identification number along with a set of rules to follow in case you need them.

How much does the Canada eTA cost for Australian citizens?

The eTA can only be applied online. It costs 62 AUD, including service and government fees.
Unlike an ordinary visa, the eTA has an estimated approval time of 48 hours, so you will avoid unnecessary queues and waiting times.
