If you love travelling, you must know that every traveller has a must-see list of some of the most beautiful countries and cities around the world. This is my list for the 15 most beautiful cities in the world!

Oia

Travelling to Oia, or any other city in Santorini is an adventure of its own. Breathtaking views are part of everyday life, and its golden sunsets and beaches where you can relax any time will make you fall in love with Oia.

Oia also holds a lot of history, which you can see in the Panagia Platsani greek orthodox church, in the Maritime Museum, and through the Byzantine Castle Ruins and the Castle of Oia. You must also try its food and wine. Indulge in an unforgettable culinary experience with very affordable prices.

Kyoto

A destination that everyone should visit at least once in their lifetime, Kyoto is the cultural and historical heart of Japan. It holds many UNESCO world heritage sites including many temples that will show you its history.

It also has the most picturesque views of cherry blossoms, Japanese gardens and great old traditional shops. You must walk around the city, where you can encounter Geishas, with their fantastic outfits, and where you can find restaurant to discover Kyoto from a culinary point of view.

Dubai

If you want an over-the-top experience, Dubai is a place to go! There is a mix of extravagant and luxurious lifestyle with its cars, clothes and social events, and traditional culture seen in the markets, the food and the way of living life. 

It is home to both the biggest mall in the world and the tallest building in the world. It also holds different numbers of religions and cultures, since Dubai welcomes many ex-pats, which translates into discovering different restaurants, schools, events and celebrations.

Mountains, desert and water, this three-fold city in Oman is unforgettable. You can visit its marvellously architecture constructions, including the amazing Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, Al Alam Palace and Bait Al Zubair Museum.

Muscat is known for its great seafood, which is either made grilled, or in a curry recipe. Another must-do activity is to take a tour around the Gulf of Oman where you can watch dolphins, discover the amazing mountain landscapes on a hike, and the endless desert!

Venice

Also called the floating city, is known for its canals and bridges. There only boats and ferries are the way of getting around this romantic city. You cannot visit Venice without enjoying Gondola rides, wandering around and discovering the Venetian Gothic architecture and tasting all the delicious food and wine.

A must-see in Venice are the many glass blowing factories the area is famous for. A last tip is that you should organize your trip around the end of January to see the amazing Venetian Carnival.

Petra

Petra is a UNESCO World Heritage city in Jordan that does not disappoint in terms of history and beaut. Also called the Pink City or even the Lost City, Petra is a natural desert beauty that will take your breath away.

Just entering the city is an adventure itself. Going through the mountains, gorges and rocks, it is unique! The best plan is to dive into history through visiting the ruins, especially the area of Al-Khazneh, and to tour the ancient houses, the amphitheatres and the temples.

You also should go climbing and enjoying the landscapes. And then, you should enjoy the beautiful and clear starry nights in the desert. The whole city offers the most amazing feeling of calmness and relaxation under its starry nights through its ‘Petra Night Show’.

In addition to that, you should also get lost in its markets, and enjoy the food and desserts Greece is known for. Without forgetting its beautiful beaches for a relaxed stay. This city has a lot to offer! Starting by its staple monuments, you should visit St. Stephen’s Basilica, Castle Hill, Buda Castle and the Hungarian State Opera House, then dive into history through discovering the Kobanya Caves.

Budapest is known for its eventful nightlife, but it is also known for its tasty street food, and its unique attractions like the Budapest Pinball Museum, and the Budapest Chocolate Museum. The best way to end your journey is by going to thermal baths and enjoy these waters' healing properties.

Easily, one of the most beautiful cities due to its simplicity. In addition to the fact that it is an affordable destination compared to others, it holds a big number of museums and galleries, and it offers delicious food and wines.

A part from Porto’s beautiful colourful streets and buildings, there are a few things you cannot miss: enjoy a ride in its tram, and if you are a Harry Potter fan, pay a visit to The Lello & Irmao bookstore, which was an inspiration behind the great saga. Istanbul is a city between Asia and Europe that mixes modernity with authenticity and tradition. It’s filled with beautiful landmarks that tell the country’s story and history of different civilizations. You can enjoy shopping and use your bargaining skills, take a boat tour around the Bosfor, and have a relaxing evening in a Turkish bath before you head out for the city’s busy nightlife. Turkish food and sweets are everywhere to indulge.

Saint Petersburg

Krakow

This historic polish city is home to a lot of history. You can walk around and discover the main market square, visit the colourful St Mary’s Basilica, visit Auschwitz concentration camp, and also tour the Wawel Royal Castle. One activity that will make your trip to Krakow better is to ride a horse and cart and explore the Old Town the traditional way. 

To conclude, enjoy a few drinks in the Kazimierz neighbourhood, where you will also find shops, boutiques and synagogues.
