Armenia entry requirements

Passport

You need a valid passport to follow the entry requirements for Armenia. Your passport should have a minimum of six month validity from the date you are planning to arrive to the country.

Visa

Having a visa is part of the entry requirements for Armenia. However, Armenia has bilateral agreements with specific countries and you might be exempted from having to apply for Armenia visa depending on your country of origin. Many countries don’t benefit from this exemption, and it’s always best to check before booking your flight.

Travel Insurance

Travel insurance isn’t one of the mandatory Armenia entry requirements, but it's highly recommended. Regardless of the country you visit, having travel insurance is the best way to ensure you are covered in the event of luggage loss, medical emergencies and repatriation.

Currency

The dram (AMD for Armenian Dram) is the national currency of Armenia. It’s not always possible to obtain drams depending on your country of origin, so bring dollars (USD) or euros with you and change the money in the country. There are many money exchange businesses and banks in big cities in Armenia where you will be able to easily change your dollars or euros for drams.

Vaccines

There are no mandatory vaccines in the entry requirements for Armenia. Travelers should be up to date with routine vaccines, including the following:

  • Chickenpox (Varicella)
  • Diphtheria-Tetanus-Pertussis
  • Flu (influenza)
  • Measles-Mumps-Rubella (MMR)
  • Polio
  • Shingles

Being vaccinated for rabies is also highly recommended, as many dogs with the disease can be found across the country.
